TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
In general, tournaments are on Saturdays and they start at 8 a.m. For travel tournaments (not at GWHS) we will have a bus departing from the GWHS SOUTH/POOL AREA parking lot in time to arrive at the tournament location (typically 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. depending on location). PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL NOT HAVE BUSES to the more local tournaments, such as East or Denver School of the Arts (DSA)).
If a Tournament runs on a school day, we will have a bus leaving from the school in time to arrive at the tournament location and your child will be excused from classes by the Speech and Debate Coach.
Bus and tournament info is updated in Room 22 (please check in regularly to confirm dates/times and bus options, if any).
NOTE: Tournament dates and locations are subject to change and inclement weather could cause a tournament to be delayed or cancelled.
Speech and Debate has two seasons.
Novice Season - Every weekend in October.
Regular (Varsity) Season - Begins on November 1st and runs through February.
Once the Regular (Varsity) Season has ended the qualifying tournaments begin for State and Nationals.
